Notes:

Catalog numbers:
Box Front: 1213
Box Back: KUX-1213
Box Spine: KUX 1213
Labels: KU-1213

RECORD 2 Side 1 - Runout was marked as RVG SQ - 98763 , A-3 VAN GELDER ⁰ but the 6 in 98763 was overwritten to be marked 7
RECORD 2 Side 2 - Runout was marked as RVG SQ - 98772 , B. ② VAN GELDER ⁰ but the 2 in 98772 was overwritten to be marked 3

The number 1213 is not a sequential number in the Kudu catalog. It is a combination of the catalog numbers assigned to the two albums that also were released separately: Soul Box Vol. 1 (KU 12) and Soul Box Vol. 2 (KU 13).

The album is packaged and labeled as a Stereo release; but the SQ in the Runout etchings indicate that the disc was mastered as a SQ Quadraphonic recording. Since a Quadraphonic record could be played on a regular stereo system, it could be marketed and labeled as a Stereo disc, particularly if demand for the Quadraphonic format turned out to be less than anticipated.

Label variation: larger pressing ring than [r615390 and SQ not part of Matrix prefix as in the same release.

The diameter of the pressing ring (69mm) is characteristic of a Columbia Records pressing. But there are no characteristic etchings in the runouts to identify which Columbia plant might have been used for the pressing.

Gatefold Insert with Painting and Liner Notes on the outer panes; Liner Notes and Blank page on the inner panes.

Recorded at Van Gelder Studios, March 1973.

All Runout data is etched, except VAN GELDER is stamped.
