Mile High Vinyl Return & Refund Policy

At Mile High Vinyl, we ensure that all items sold meet high-quality standards. To protect both you as the buyer and us as the seller, photographs are taken of every item before shipment, including the sleeve for vinyl records. This provides a detailed record of each item's condition before it leaves our facility.

Additionally, if an item is flagged as being undergraded upon inspection, customers will receive an email notification before the item ships, allowing them to confirm or decline the purchase.

Grading Standards

Music Media (Vinyl, CDs, Cassettes, 8-Tracks, 7” Records)

All items are visually graded according to the Goldmine Standard of Grading.

Other Media (Magazines, VHS Tapes, etc.)

These are visually graded, with a detailed written description provided for transparency.

Buyer Responsibility & Format Verification

Customers are responsible for reviewing all listing details prior to purchase, including format, media type, condition, pressing information, and photographs.

Mile High Vinyl sells a variety of physical media formats, including vinyl records, cassettes, CDs, and other formats. The format of each item is clearly identified in the listing title, description, and images.

Refunds, returns, or exchanges will not be offered in cases where:

  • an incorrect format was purchased due to buyer oversight
  • the item was accurately listed and shipped as described
  • dissatisfaction is based on format preference rather than listing error

Requests for returns or exchanges based on buyer error, assumption, or preference (including but not limited to ordering a cassette instead of a vinyl record) are considered buyer's remorse and are not eligible for return or exchange.

Customers are encouraged to contact Mile High Vinyl prior to purchase if confirmation of format, pressing details, or additional clarification is required.

Requesting a Refund

If your purchased item does not match its written description or is graded inaccurately per the Goldmine Standard, you may request a refund.

To initiate a refund request:

  • Send clear pictures or a video file highlighting the issue to milehighvinyl@outlook.com
  • Include a description of the condition issue or, for music-related media, concerns about sound quality

You may be eligible for store credit of equal value or a full refund, issued to the original payment method.

Important Refund Guidelines

Refunds will only be processed back to the original payment method. No exceptions — refunds will not be issued outside of Shopify.

Refund requests under our standard grading-based policy must be submitted within 30 calendar days of delivery. After this period, all responsibility falls on the customer.

Refunds will not be granted for buyer's remorse. If the grading is accurate and the correct item was sent, a refund or exchange will not be issued.

Manufacturing Variations & Pressing Characteristics

Certain vinyl pressings may contain manufacturer-related cosmetic variations or layout characteristics inherent to the specific release itself. Examples may include, but are not limited to:

  • tight runout grooves or locked grooves near labels
  • slight label misalignment or label overlap into deadwax/runout areas
  • cosmetic pressing marks that do not affect playback
  • minor edge warp common to specific pressings
  • minor off-center labels
  • other pressing quirks or cosmetic manufacturing characteristics specific to certain releases

Unless such issues result in significant playback problems (including skipping, looping, severe distortion, or inability to properly play the record), these characteristics are not considered defects eligible for refunds, partial refunds, complimentary items, replacement merchandise, or additional concessions.

Mile High Vinyl reserves the right to deny refund or compensation requests relating to cosmetic manufacturing characteristics or pressing-layout decisions that do not materially affect playback quality.

Customers are encouraged to request additional photographs or clarification prior to purchase if they have concerns regarding specific pressings or release variations.

Shipping & Returns

Items valued over $20 must be returned to Mile High Vinyl at the customer's expense.

For items under $20, return shipping details will be determined through direct discussion with Mile High Vinyl.

Shipping costs are non-refundable. Refunds cover only the cost of the inaccurately graded or incorrect item.

Lost Parcels & Shipping Policies

All orders (except Lettermail Untracked for Canadian customers) are shipped with a tracking number to protect both the business and the buyer.

Once an item has been shipped and tracking information has been provided, customers are responsible for monitoring the shipment and reporting any delivery issues promptly.

If a tracked parcel appears to be lost in transit, Mile High Vinyl will work with the customer and the carrier to investigate the shipment and determine an appropriate resolution.

For Lettermail Untracked shipments, no tracking information is available and Mile High Vinyl cannot guarantee delivery once the item has been mailed.

EU Customers — Right of Withdrawal

If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving any reason (the "cooling-off period").

Important exception for sealed recordings

In accordance with EU Directive 2011/83/EU, the right of withdrawal does not apply to sealed audio recordings (including vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes) that have been unsealed after delivery. If the factory seal has been broken, the item is not eligible for withdrawal under this right.

Used and unsealed media remain subject to the standard grading-based refund policy outlined above.

To exercise your right of withdrawal on eligible items, please use the withdrawal form available on our store, or contact us at milehighvinyl@outlook.com within the 14-day period. You must clearly state your intention to withdraw and provide your order details.

Upon a valid withdrawal request:

  • We will process your refund within 14 days of receiving the returned item or proof of return shipment, whichever is earlier.
  • Refunds will be issued to your original payment method.
  • Customers exercising their right of withdrawal are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods unless otherwise required by applicable law.

This right of withdrawal is separate from and in addition to our standard grading-based refund policy above.

Fraud Prevention Policy

All orders flagged as high risk of fraud by Shopify will be immediately canceled, and a refund will be issued to the original cardholder.

🚨 Fraudulent orders will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Any individual found attempting fraud will be permanently blacklisted and banned from making future purchases through Mile High Vinyl.

Fraudulent activity may be reported to Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, or other appropriate parties where necessary.

Mile High Vinyl reserves the right to refuse any communication with flagged fraudulent buyers to protect our reputation and our customers.
